The hotel insider: Chablé Maroma.

Let’s talk about my current hotel crush. I’m loving Chablé Maroma, a member of one of my favorite Mexican boutique hotel brands, Chablé Hotels, with a unique focus on sustainability, architecture, and design.

Who should travel here?

Travelers and foodies looking for a contemporary aesthetic, a boutique feel, and a nearby international airport, whereas it's centrally located in the Riviera Maya (about 30m away from Cancun and 25m away from Playa del Carmen). Also, it's not an adult-only property but does skew towards adults, so it's best for adult trips.

Who should NOT travel here?

Travelers who require an ocean view from the room (because this doesn't exist). However, all rooms do have their own private plunge pool, and the beach is a short walk away.

What can you do here?

Experience high-end Mexican food (with a focus on Mayan cuisine) paired with wines, tequilas, and mezcals at Bu'ul restaurant; learn how to make homemade tortillas and salsas at a cooking class; take a snorkel trip on from the boat on-property; take a yoga class; or maybe just sit beachside in a beautiful place.
